Manager - Outpatient Department
Permanent Full-Time
Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Reporting to the VP of Medical Services, the Manager of the Outpatient Department is responsible for all operations of the Outpatient Department of the Labrador Health Center, as well as many administrative functions of the Medical Services division. 

  • University degree in Health, Social Sciences or Business Administration; 
  • Five years of management experience;
  • Technical proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft work, Power Point, Excel, Internet, email and health information systems;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Clear certificate of conduct is required.

Duties (Include but not limited to):

  • Developing the monthly call schedule, this details all operations of the Medical Services division of the Labrador Health Center.
  • Work closely with the NorFam residency program to ensure scheduling coincides with the master call schedule. 
  • Arrange and recruit locum physicians; ensure set up and scheduling is complete. 
  • Constantly evaluate scheduling and appointment systems and always look for ways to improve
  • Ensure nursing staff maintain required skills and licenses.
  • Restructuring the Department based on a program management model;
  • Track specialist referrals through the Order Entry system and ensure services are complete. 
  • Developing policies and appropriate processes for all Outpatient Department activities;
  • Track and reconcile all Department expenditures.
  • Developing policies and procedures that will govern all staff regarding changes;
  • Providing assistance to the Chief of Staff;
  • Providing direct supervision and periodic evaluation of OPD support staff;
  • Assisting with CME coordination.

Salary: HL-21 of the Hay Management plan plus Labrador Allowance

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 75 hours bi-weekly
