Vice President, Capital Planning, Facilities & Business Development
Southlake Regional Health Centre, with an annual operating budget of approximately $390 million, is a dynamic, full-service hospital with a regional, clinically advanced focus, responsible for developing and providing advanced levels of care to more than 1 million people residing in York Region, Simcoe County, and as far north as Muskoka. The needs of Southlake’s patients are met by the expertise, energy and commitment of approximately 3,000 employees, 540 physicians, and 900 volunteers. As a strong partner in the region, situated in Newmarket, Southlake plays a pivotal role in northern York Region and south Simcoe, the Central Local Health Integration Network (Central LHIN), and the broader health care system. Southlake offers primary, secondary, tertiary and post-acute care in inpatient and ambulatory settings through advanced, specialty services including: arthritis care, cancer care, cardiac care, cataract surgery, child and adolescent eating disorders, mental health services for children, paediatrics and perinatal care, and thoracic surgery.
Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Capital Planning, Facilities & Business Development provides leadership in the provision of services that support high quality patient care throughout the hospital, including Capital Planning and Facilities Operations. The Vice President leads the hospital’s facilities capital planning activities which includes master planning, space planning and allocation, facilities renovation, facility redevelopment and expansion including municipal, regional and provincial planning and development approvals. The Vice President also leads the day-to-day operation of hospital facilities with respect to maintenance, biomedical engineering, plant operations, property management, security, emergency preparedness, parking and retail operations. Finally, the incumbent will oversee business enterprises, commercial ventures, and related real estate / leasing components.
The preferred candidate will have strong working knowledge of hospital master planning and capital redevelopment. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in health care, facility operations and maintenance.
