Mental Health Inpatient Program is a provider of adult mental health services primarily for Middlesex County. The program offers stabilization and treatment for adults over 18 years of age. The inpatient service offers short-term admissions for crisis stabilization, assessments of a variety of mental health spheres and coordination with community resources for follow up treatment and community support after discharge. Care provided includes crisis intervention, individual support and milieu management. The mental health nurse works within the context of a collaborative interdisciplinary team reflecting the principles of patient family centered and evidenced based care. Mental Health Outpatient Services CEPS

Reporting to the CEPS Coordinator, the Registered Nurse provides primary care including comprehensive assessment and triage for the clients in the Emergency Department who present with mental health issues. The CEPS Registered Nurse works within the context of a collaborative interdisciplinary team reflecting the principles of patient centred care within an emergency room setting.

Rate of Pay: $32.21 per hour - $46.11 per hour  


  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario  
  • BScN degree preferred
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C)
  • Canadian Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Certification CPMHN(c) preferred
  • Minimum one year recent, related experience in a mental health care setting preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to interprofessional collaborative team work and care
  • Group facilitation skills preferred
  • Demonstrated effective crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high stress treatment environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a changing work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
  • Evidence of commitment to achievement of goals related to professional development and/or unit objectives
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient family centred care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
