Perinatal Services are provided 24/7 and are comprised of eight hospitals that together deliver over 15,000 babies per year and care for the highest NICU population in the province. As of 2015, nearly 40% of births in BC have come from the Fraser Health communities. Recent infrastructure support includes major renovations in the millions of dollars for sites in New Westminster, Surrey and Abbotsford. Surrey Memorial Hospital now has a dedicated regional Perinatal Centre. As Perinatal Services continue to expand and improve, this position offers you the opportunity to be part of a busy and exciting unit consisting of labour, delivery, recovery and postpartum services, provide education to patients and families with a focus on health promotion, collaborate with members of the inter-professional care team, and participate in quality improvement and risk management activities. As a Perinatal Nurse, you have recent one-year related clinical perinatal nursing experience in the designated clinical area as well as completion of post graduate basic course work or certification in perinatal nursing. You must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (www.crnbc.ca) in order to qualify for these opportunities.
