  • Perinatal Tertiary level at Royal Columbian Hospital 
  • Eight perinatal sites found at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Burnaby General Hospital, Chilliwack General Hospital, Eagle Ridge Hospital, Langley Memorial Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital, Peace Arch Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital. 

NICU Services are provided 24/7 and are comprised of four hospitals: Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Burnaby General Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital that together deliver over 15,000 babies per year and care for the highest NICU population in the province. As of 2015, nearly 40% of births in BC have come from the Fraser Health communities. Recent infrastructure support includes major renovations in the millions of dollars for sites in New Westminster, Surrey and Abbotsford. Surrey Memorial Hospital now has a dedicated regional Perinatal Centre.   As NICU Services continue to expand and improve, this position offers you the opportunity to provide care to high risk newborns, participate and attend high risk deliveries, collaborate with other health care professionals and conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and identify risk factors.   

As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse, you will have graduated from an approved school of Nursing with recent one year experience in a neonatal tertiary unit. You must also have completion of a post basic Neonatal Nursing Program and current Basic Rescuer (Level C) Certificate and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Certificate. You must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia ( in order to qualify for these opportunities.
