Senior Policy and Business Analyst

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Provincial Programs Branch, plays a critical and strategic role in leading Ontario's blood utilization and safety programs and services.

We have an exciting opportunity for two Senior Policy and Business Analysts to provide project leadership and policy development expertise. If you are looking to join a high-performing team with challenging work, we would like to hear from you.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

  • Provide project leadership in the development of policies, program frameworks, systems and processes to support blood utilization and safety program and services
  • Leads all aspects of policy and program planning and development
  • Develop and manage critical stakeholder consultations and partnerships
  • Leads, coordinates, and/or undertakes policy research and analysis to support policy and program recommendations
  • Maintain a leading edge awareness of trends and directions which may impact policy directions for health care and the blood system in the province

How do I qualify?

Policy and Program Knowledge and Skills

  • You have demonstrated knowledge of policy and program development principles and techniques
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of or the ability to learn the health care system and services
  • You have knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of the federal and provincial blood system and the critical issues faced
  • You have the ability to learn and understand various policies and programs to assess the effectiveness when new or changed policies and programs are proposed/implemented

Analytical, Problem-Solving, and Research Skills

  • You can analyze and interpret information (e.g. qualitative and quantitative) to make evidence-based decisions
  • You have analytical skills to evaluate and assess the implications of proposed changes, issues, and impacts and propose risk mitigations
  • You can process and distill information from a range of sources
  • You can organize and prioritize multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are met

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • You can foster effective relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • You can present information and provide advice and recommendations
  • You have negotiation and consensus-building skills to gain buy-in and support for initiatives
  • You oral and written communication skills to respond to issues, provide recommendations, prepare own materials and presentations
  • You have demonstrated relationship management skills to build relationships with stakeholders and negotiate changes

Project Management Skills

  • You have experience planning and managing projects and research studies
  • You can provide advice and guidance to project teams

Salary Range: $70,538 - $103,944 per year
