Required 
• Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario. 
• Current CPR or BCLS certificate. 
• Minimum 6 months continuous clinical work experience (within the last 5 years) in a maternal child area including post-partum and newborn stabilization and care. 
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation, or obtain within 3 months. 
• Current Fetal Health Surveillance Certificate or obtain within 3 months. 
• Educational preparation and experience in breastfeeding and lactation support or obtain within 6 months. 
• Evidence of continuing professional development. (please list most recent 3 on application) 
• Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (PDA available to review)  
 
Duties 
• Utilizes the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating family-centred maternal-child managed care requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgement. 
• Responsible for the co-ordination of care within the framework of Interprofessional Patient Care Teams. 
• Contributes to multidisciplinary documentation of care and outcomes. 
• Participates in CE programs to ensure a high level of patient care and efficiencies in the delivery of care. 
• Must be available for all shifts and standby as required. 
• Most be able to work to full scope of practice on all areas of this unit as listed above. 
• Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills 
• Other duties as assigned.
