This is an excellent opportunity to join the Casey House team as we have now opened our new state-of-the-art facility. Casey House’s new facility supports our overall goal of establishing a centre of excellence in HIV/AIDS clinical care, education and research that addresses the unmet health needs of people living with HIV/AIDS.

We are currently seeking an experienced and influential leader to join our senior management team who operates at both the executive and operational level and is comfortable with “rolling up their sleeves” to be the hands-on financial professional.

Position: Director of Finance and Operations, CFO
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
Status: Permanent Full-Time 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Finance and Operations/CFO serves as an integral member of the Casey House and Casey House Foundation Management team. The Director/CFO role is a leader who is actively involved in the development and advancement of the strategic plan and priorities and is accountable for a number of corporate departments and services, including Financial Services, Payroll, Procurement, Facility Management Services, Information Technology and Capital Planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contributes to the overall administration of Casey House and Casey House Foundation by providing thought leadership, and functions as an informed and effective member of the management team.
  • Responsible for the development of corporate-wide policies, objectives and strategies
  • Provides leadership for strategic relationships/partnerships with a broad range of external stakeholders, including Ministries, LHINs, AIDS Bureau, contractors, funders/donors, financial institutions, and other community and/or health care providers
  • Responsible for leading and monitoring the financial health of Casey House and Casey
  • House Foundation by setting financial strategies and carrying out long term financial planning.
  • Attends Board meetings of both Casey House and Casey House Foundation and serves as chief resource person for the Finance Board Committees.
  • Leads the development of the annual and capital budgets by defining the process, determining timelines, and preparing the Ministry reporting package.
  • Completes all external reporting for Casey House and the Foundation including charity returns and MOHLTC reports
  • Develops, recommends and implements programs/processes for the control of assets, procurement processes, budget planning, expenditure control, fund management, and accounting for all revenues and expenses in keeping with Centre and government practices and policies
  • Provides strategic oversight to direct reports in the corporate areas of facilities management and information technology,
  • Supervises Corporate Accountant, Program Assistant, Facilities Manager and Information Technology Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced educational and professional qualifications, i.e., CPA designatio 
  • Three to five years’ experience in progressively responsible financial management roles, including within an executive team
  • Experience in the public, healthcare and/or not-for-profit sector is required.
  • Experience in finance, budget, operational planning, and procurement and knowledge of fund accounting and CRA requirements
  • Experience with leading corporate services related to related to building maintenance, security, housekeeping and information technology
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to direct, motivate, evaluate and recognize staff and volunteers within a unionized environment
  • Personal values alignment with Casey House’s values to support individuals from a diverse population including people living with HIV, substance use and mental health
