Position Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for you to showcase your creativity in analyzing and visualizing information and data! 

We are looking for an Analyst for the Business and Market Intelligence team to collect, analyze and interpret information based on the strategic needs of the business. Pivotal to this role will be engagement and the ability to communicate effectively-including integrating quantitative and qualitative data into user friendly and actionable materials. This role requires critical thinking and problem solving to identify potential data sources, extract and clean, as well as conduct effective statistical analyses.

Experience with routine performance reporting including indicator selection, target setting and reporting is an asset. We are looking for someone passionate about translating information into insights –with a natural strategic and curious mindset and a commitment to LifeLabs’ ability to innovate and transform healthcare in Canada.


  • Engaging internal stakeholders to understand strategic activities, share performance findings and connect actionable opportunities to findings, achieving needs of stakeholder
  • Develop expert knowledge of data systems including mapping and definitions
  • Structure and organize internal data files including cleaning data and applying data quality processes
  • Conduct statistical analyses to inform performance changes related to customers, market and products and quality
  • Accountable for development, release and quality of routine reporting as well as ad hoc analyses
  • Expert in market and competitor activities in particular business areas, collecting, analyzing and integrating themes into reporting
  • Contribute to department standard processes, tools and improvemen


  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience directly related to health care
  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Statistics or Health Informatics, Finance, Management, Economics, Engineering or equivalent
  • Master’s degree an asset
  • At least two years of experience post-undergraduate degree is strongly preferred.
  • A detailed oriented, self-starter with demonstrated analytical and logical structuring expertise
  • Excellent at engagement and facilitation processes including written and verbal communication
  • Ability  to conduct statistical analyses including statistical software(qualitative research abilities an asset)
  • Passionate about health care strategy, performance reporting, outcome driven and a collaborative team player
  • High-level of  adaptability and emotional intelligence and ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Close attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset and interest in visualization and knowledge translation
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and other statistical software an asset (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, Python, R, etc.)
