Job Description

Providence St. Joseph’s and St. Michael’s Healthcare - BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Our Shared Purpose – advancing the health of our patients and urban communities

On August, 1, Providence Healthcare, St. Joseph’s Health Centre and St. Michael’s Hospital amalgamated into one health network. United, the three organizations are better positioned to serve our patients, residents and clients across the full spectrum of care, spanning primary care, secondary community care, tertiary and quaternary care services to post-acute through rehabilitation, palliative care and long-term care, while investing in world-class research and education. Each of the legacy hospitals has a long and proud history of providing excellent and compassionate care to all, particularly those who experience marginalization or disadvantage – a value grounded by our founders the Sisters of St. Joseph. The new health network presents an opportunity for us to reinvest in patient care as well as help patients and their families obtain better access to higher quality, integrated care.

If you are interested in helping us develop our new organization that will deliver the best possible health care to our communities – as a member of the Board - we want to hear from you.

A diverse array of professional backgrounds and skills are sought, reflective of the demography of our communities. We are seeking skills and experience for a complex health network environment with business acumen in Governance, Executive Leadership, Community and Social Services as well as individuals who believe they can benefit a newly merged, multi-site organization with change management, integration, development and planning. Most importantly we are seeking individuals with an unwavering commitment to the betterment of health care services for our community.

Expressions of interest, comprising a resume and covering letter setting out your candidacy, should be sent by email to Penny Mirams at penny.mirams@odgersberndtson.com, no later than October 15, 2017. Serious consideration will be given to each expression of interest, but only those selected for a screening interview will be contacted.

For more information about the new network, visit OurSharedPurpose.com.

Providence Healthcare, St. Joseph’s Health Centre and St. Michael’s Hospital are equal opportunity employers.  In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, upon request, accommodation will be provided by both Odgers Berndtson and our clients throughout the recruitment, selection and/or assessment process to applicants with disabilities.
