eHealth Ontario was established by the provincial government in September 2008 as an independent agency of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. eHealth Ontario is enabling physicians and health care providers establish and maintain electronic health records (EHRs) for all of Ontario’s 13 million residents.

eHealth is playing a leading role in harnessing IT and innovation to improve health care in Ontario by:

  • Providing ehealth services and related support for the effective and efficient planning, management and delivery of health care in Ontario;
  • Developing  an ehealth services strategy, operational policy; and
  • Protecting the privacy of individuals whose personal information or personal health information is collected, transmitted, stored or exchanged by and through the agency.

The Vice President of Human Resources will be an experienced, focused, enthusiastic, and action-oriented human resources professional. This executive will provide valuable people leadership to a mission critical government agency that is focused on improving the lives of all Ontario residents through various healthcare information technology solutions.

This senior human resources opportunity has the key elements required of a career shaping opportunity.  As a full member of the senior management team, the position will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer & Chief Financial Officer.

The position will have accountability for leading a team through all of the components of the strategic human resources functions and the broader cultural change management.  The top human resources role has all of the key functional domain accountabilities including strategic workforce planning, day-to-day operations, labour relations, organizational development, compensation, training, recruitment, benefits, and pensions.  The individual will have the accountability for coaching and challenging the executive team to ensure it meets the needs of  employees and the broader stakeholders of eHealth Ontario. 

The successful candidate will have broad functional knowledge of Human Resources including compensation, pension & benefits, talent management, budgeting, workforce planning, organizational development and human resources operations. This individual will be a seasoned leader with 6 plus years’ experience leading large HR teams.
