Job Description

Vice President Clinical Services, Inter-Professional Practice and Chief Nursing Officer
Northern Health Region – Thompson, MB

The reason why you’re in healthcare is to do your best to make a difference in people’s lives. Northern Health Region offers the perfect opportunity to take on a high profile, high impact role that will contribute to the healthcare of nearly 75,000 residents across Manitoba’s north.

Here is a career expanding opportunity to join the community and serve the community with energy, clinical professionalism and leadership. Northern Health Region is the care provider for two cities, six towns and 25 First Nations communities across the top of the Province. Through four hospitals and a network of personal care homes and health centres, Northern Health embraces the challenges of distance, geography and sometimes climate.

As Vice President Clinical Services, Inter-Professional Practice and Chief Nursing Officer, you will apply best practices and innovative thinking to make the most of your teams, new technologies and financial resources. Working across the whole Region, your mandate will include acute care, long term and continuing care, pharmacy, nursing, MDRD, infection control and evidence-informed interdisciplinary policy and practice. As VP and CNO, you’ll strive to achieve quality of care that’s consistent across the Region. Support nursing services and inter-professional practice through development and support of a collaborative practice model, recruitment and retention strategies, education and professional development. Expand public and community health initiatives. Be present and active in the communities, rallying your inter-professional teams around integrated service and innovative thinking. Contribute to long range planning as a member of the executive leadership council.

In addition to holding a Master’s degree and being eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, you have excelled through energetic clinical and professional leadership. A consummate relationship developer, you have shown your ability to build trust with your teams, your peers, Indigenous, Métis and Inuit people and communities, professional organizations, community and governmental stakeholders.
