Centre for Accreditation

Accreditation to ISO 15189 standards by the Centre for Accreditation is a mark of excellence recognized around the world. IQMH’s Centre for Accreditation assesses the ability of a facility to perform medical testing or the collection of specimens with formal recognition of this competence through accreditation to IQMH’s ISO 15189 Plus™ requirements. It also provides facilities with the tools they need to standardize their processes, address diminishing resources and set a quality benchmark.

Centre for Proficiency Testing

Internationally-recognized and accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), and with over 40 years of experience, IQMH’s Centre for Proficiency Testing is world class.

Centre for Education

Founded on the knowledge, experience and skills gained as a leader in its field for over forty years, IQMH’s Centre for Education elevates knowledge and competence in the medical diagnostic testing community by providing education, training and a valuable a communications network in areas including quality management and technical operations, best-practice guidelines, scientific publications and updates on latest developments in the medical laboratory, diagnostic imaging and broader healthcare field.

Mandate and Term

The Directors are responsible for IQMH’s overall effective governance.  This includes overseeing IQMH’s activities, finances, risk and strategy to ensure its sound operation and oversight of the President and CEO’s performance.

Directors are appointed for one year terms after which they are considered for reappointment.

The Board will consist of six Directors bringing perspective and leadership experience from across the medical diagnostic and broader healthcare sectors. There is currently an opportunity for two new Directors to join the Board.

Skills and Background

IQMH is seeking two dynamic, forward thinking individuals with leadership experience in healthcare and proven integrity, judgement and influence ability.

In particular, preference will be given to candidates with experience in either:

  • Healthcare and/or regulatory oversight; or
  • Broader public interest in patient or general health or healthcare diagnostic services.  

Former roles as CEO/COO with influential related organizations having significant government interaction would also be valuable.

Time Commitment

Scheduled meetings include quarterly Board Meetings and an Annual General Members Meeting usually held in June. Special Board Meetings may also be called from time to time during the year. Meetings are usually two to three hours in duration held at the IQMH Toronto office and may be attended either in person (preferred) or via teleconference.
