CNIB Boards of Directors Life is a beautiful, complex and wonderful thing. Life for people who are blind or partially sighted should be no different. To deliver on this vision and help us change what it is to be blind or partially sighted today, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind is inviting applications/nominations from outstanding community or business leaders for multiple Board Director appointments to the CNIB National Board and the Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada Board in 2018. On CNIB’s 100th anniversary, we celebrate our past – and look ahead to a bold, ambitious future for people with sight loss in Canada. With a focus on boosting engagement in the world of work, unleashing the power of technology and driving achievement and equity for people who are blind or partially sighted, we enter our second century more driven than ever before to create the bright future our founders imagined. Each member of our boards is a dedicated advocate for the rights of Canadians who are blind or partially sighted. Many of our board members, themselves are living with blindness or significant sight loss. Board Directors are enthusiastic ambassadors for the organization and our mission, building our reputation with participants, partners and donors. CNIB’s innovative programs and powerful advocacy empower Canadians with sight loss to live the lives they choose, while driving change in communities coast to coast to coast. Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada provides training that enables people who are blind or partially sighted to develop or restore key daily living skills, helping to enhance their independence, safety and mobility. If you are a community or business leader who is passionate about changing what it is to be blind or partially sighted today, and are prepared to play a critical role at a transformational moment in CNIB’s future, we want to hear from you. The ideal Board Director will live and breathe CNIB’s values, which include innovation, empowerment, inclusiveness, passion, integrity and collaboration. They will have a personal connection to and/or a commitment to CNIB’s success, its mission, vision and values and the Canadians CNIB serves. This is an outstanding opportunity for a passionate community, business and/or board leader motivated and personally committed to making a significant difference for CNIB and Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada for many years to come.
