Position Title: Quality & Patient Safety Lead Job Class: A0006 Dept/Program: Quality & Integrated Risk Rate of Pay : $48.12 - $54.17/hr Employment Type: Temporary Full Time up to 1 year Employee Group: AMAPCEO Work Schedule: 36.25 hours per week as per schedule Posting Date: June 27th, 2018 The Director of Quality & Integrated Risk is currently seeking a Quality & Patient Safety Lead. The primary focus of this position is to lead the coordination of the Accreditation survey activities in conjunction with all Waypoint programs and service areas, in collaboration with the Patient Safety Quality Improvement Coordinator. The Lead will oversee the Hospital’s compliance with Accreditation standards to fulfill the requirements to sustain good standing and prepare the organization for its on-site survey. Key Accountabilities: Provides leadership, facilitation, education and support of the Accreditation process and acts as liaison with the Accreditation Client Specialist Develops and monitors compliance with Required Organizational Practices, submission requirements (e.g. indicator data, surveys/instruments, self-assessments etc.) Oversees the coordination and collection, analysis and generation of timely and meaningful information to enable the promotion and provision of patient safety and quality while facilitating and supporting quality, patient safety, and accreditation initiatives. Identifies current trends and relevant theory to identify, analyze and assist in resolving patient safety issues. Assists with investigating and reporting patient safety, conducting analysis of priority process as well as clinical tracers Performs all work at all times in compliance with all hospital policies and procedures and legislation (Occupational Health & Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS, etc.) relevant to health and safety, security (including relational/therapeutic security) and potential risk hazards, and in particular, “duties of the worker” as defined in Section 28 of the OH&S Act. Manager has the right to assign additional responsibilities (e.g. provides coverage and support to the Patient Relations Officer) Requirements/Qualifications: Registration in good standing as a Regulated Health Professional in Ontario Certification in Quality Assurance & Patient Safety Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience in a Regulated Health Profession Masters degree in a related discipline is an asset Recent and related experience as an Accreditation Lead/Coordinator in an Ontario mental health facility is an asset Demonstrated experience with Accreditation Canada processes and standards in order to provide leadership, facilitation, education and support of Accreditation process at Waypoint Demonstrated experience with research, quality improvement and auditing methodologies Demonstrated project management methodology in order to identify, develop, implement and evaluate quality improvement projects/initiatives Strong computer skills in programs such as MS Office, Visio, Project Management software and the Accreditation Canada Portal Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships Proven written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to adapt readily to change Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills How do I apply?
