GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership: Leads the organization as the key leader by ensuring the vision, mission and values of the NFCHC are being met in the daily operations of the centre. Provides strong leadership through building and motivating an interdisciplinary team of professionals to excel, developing and sustaining a productive and inclusive work environment. Responsible for leading the NFCHC in a manner that supports and guides the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan built in conjunction with the Board of Directors. On behalf of its priority population, advocates on public policy issues and access to resources required to support the social determinants of health. Ensures that the needs of target groups and community are assessed and appropriate programs are planned and implemented in response to the identified community needs. Organization Effectiveness . Through engagement with staff, stakeholders and the community, ensures that the mission is fulfilled through effective programs and service, efficient operational execution and strategic community partnerships. Develops and implements an operational plan that is aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. Provides leadership and direction in the development, management and administration of all programs and services of the NFCHC. Leads the development, maintenance and auditing of a comprehensive and confidential system of corporate human resources, financial and client care records. Establishes and ensures that the optimum level and quality of service delivery is in place to meet the needs of the NFCHC’s priority populations. Responsible for ensuring a positive reputation of NFCHC by being innovative, active and visible in the community and by working closely with government and community resources. Contributes to the development and promotion of the NFCHC in Niagara and as a sector in Ontario, serving on committees that help advance the CHC model. Develops and maintains partnerships with community agencies, City of Niagara Falls, professionals, and community stakeholders through consultation and collaboration. Enables results with the organization's human capital strategy to foster employee engagement. Board Governance: Works with board in order to fulfill the organization's mission and vision while embracing the CHC values and philosophy. Act as an adviser for the Board on all aspects of the organization's activities including identifying, assessing and informing the Board of any issues that may pose a risk to the organization's clients, patients, staff or reputation. Responsible for providing the Board with all information necessary to function properly and make informed decisions, in a timely and accurate manner. Assists the Board in developing and implementing a vision and Strategic plan to guide the organization. Acts in accordance with the Executive Directors limitations as defined by the Board. Financial Performance and Viability : Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization. Responsible for the fiscal integrity of NFCHC, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization. Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position. Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization’s stakeholders, property, finances and reputation, and implement measures to control risks. Professional Qualifications: Successful completion of a University degree in health, social sciences or other related disciplines, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Transparent and high integrity leadership and communication style. Ten years of progressive experience in leadership positions for non-profit organizations that are accountable to Local Health Integration Networks (LHIN), Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and/or other agencies of government, and reporting to a board of directors. Demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build collaborative partnerships. Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization. Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting. Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation. Demonstrated ability to be flexible, versatile and/or tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency. Demonstrated knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement practices. Knowledge of provincial legislation, programs and policies applicable to the NFCHC and changing health care environment. Results oriented with the ability to prioritize competing priorities.
