Reporting to the President and CEO, the VP & CHRO will enact a vision for Human Resources and Organizational Development at Southlake that is trailblazing and drives a learning organization – empowering people to contribute meaningfully, advance interprofessional teams, and develop aspirational goals for the organization and themselves. The VP and CHRO will generate and enable strategies around this ambitious vision that are concrete, results driven and achievable. The VP is also accountable for leading a healthy workplace through responsibility for the Occupational Health and Safety program. Other areas of responsibility include Privacy and legal support. The ideal candidate: Exemplifies the employee experience and is an inspiring, committed, customer-oriented human resources professional with senior leadership experience ideally gained in the healthcare sector. Brings creativity, openness to new ideas both inside and outside of the sector, and a ‘continuous improvement’ perspective to human resources management and the employee experience. Has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and is able to build meaningful connections and effective relationships, internally and externally. Operates as a strategic partner to senior management, providing professional advice and counsel to support both strategic and operational aspects. Is an experienced people manager and team builder who can shape, mentor and coach teams to strong performance. Brings relevant occupational health and safety and labour relations experience and knowledge. Balances vision with performance with the ability to chart future direction while developing and implementing plans to achieve measurable results.
