c/o Odgers Berndtson London, ON, Canada
Mar 14, 2018Full time
London is Canada’s 11th largest city and the urban hub of Southwestern Ontario, known for offering an exceptional quality of life. The City of London has a vision to be “a leader in commerce, culture and innovation – our region’s connection to the world.” The City is seeking a service-minded executive to manage and direct the operations of the Dearness Home, their long-term care facility. This is a rare opportunity as the role of the Administrator was provided by an external contractor for the past several years. The new Administrator will steward the transition to this new leadership model, building a collaborative and well-supported staff culture, and ensuring accountability for the care and wellbeing of residents. Reporting to the Managing Director, Housing, Social Services & Dearness Home and leading a team of close to 330 full- and part-time staff, the Administrator ensures residents receive care that addresses and affirms the whole person. Dearness provides respite, medical, nursing, personal, therapeutic, and social work services to its 243 residents as well as providing an Adult Day Program (ADP) and a Homemakers Program to the larger community. Engaging residents, staff, families, and volunteers, the Administrator strives to create and maintain meaningful and respectful relationships and enhance the environment for all within the home. The Administrator plans and implements the $22M annual operating budget, oversees all human resources, facility operations, as well as programs and services. The Administrator works in an interconnected structure, partnering with other services and engaging support and cooperation from across the corporation. A seasoned health care professional with several years of management experience, you are passionate about shaping an organization’s culture and leading change initiatives. You thrive in high profile and publicly accountable roles and are known for your integrity and respect for regulations and consistent policies and practices. Your track record showcases your knowledge of labour relations, your ability to build relationships, and evidence of enhancing client experience. With all the pieces coming together around staffing, resources, and organizational support, you are well positioned, as the new Administrator, to raise the level of service to an even higher standard.
