Required -Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario. -Current CPR or BCLS certificate. -Current certificate in Neonatal Resuscitation, or to be obtained within 3 months -Clinical working experience (within the last 5 years) neonatal and paediatric nursing. -Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) available to review) -Evidence of continuing professional development. (please list most recent 3 on application) -Educational preparation and experience in lactation support, or to be obtained within 6 months. Duties -Utilizes the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating family-centred maternal-child managed care requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgement. -Responsible for the co-ordination of care within the framework of Interprofessional Patient Care Teams. -Contributes to multidisciplinary documentation of care and outcomes. -Participates in CE programs to ensure a high level of patient care and efficiencies in the delivery of care. -Other duties as assigned including scrub, circulating and recovery of the surgical maternity patient.
