The Position Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services, Performance and Chief Financial Officer, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) will have overall accountability for the Information Technology and Biomedical teams at Halton Healthcare. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the CIO will be responsible for developing and executing an IT strategy based on the Vision, Mission, and Values of Halton Healthcare, the rapidly changing provincial healthcare system and, most importantly, the need for high-quality and safe patient care. In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and other key stakeholders, the CIO will continuously work to improve the way that care is delivered across the organization. The CIO will also play a key leadership role in advancing digital solutions and optimizing health system innovation with the Connected Care Halton Ontario Health Team and other health system providers in the organization’s journey towards a new chapter of digital health innovation. Key leadership initiatives for the new CIO will be to: Lead and execute an information and communications technology (ICT) strategy and roadmap that will deliver exemplary patient experiences, always , in alignment with Halton Healthcare’s new Strategic Plan. Continue the development of Halton Healthcare’s best-in-class customer service model, advancing a collaborative approach in the delivery of digital solutions, IT, clinical information services, and biomedical engineering, with a focus on responsiveness, efficiency, engagement, and innovation. Spearhead new digital and technology solutions that transform the way the organization works and provide Connected Care to the communities served. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, clinical teams, and community providers, ensuring effective health system engagement and the development and sustainability of collaborative partnerships that leverage and optimize a range of digital solutions. Support the Connected Care Halton Ontario Health Team in the development and implementation of digital solutions to advance integrated care and improve health outcomes. Review the capacity and robustness of the IT infrastructure, with a focus on cybersecurity and privacy, and plan for anticipated growth to ensure high availability, performance and future orientation of all services and systems. Ensure efficient project management principles and practices are in place to manage highly demanding projects. Experience Halton Healthcare requires an accomplished, respected, entrepreneurial, senior-level digital innovator and technology leader that has a passion for health care and who can excel in a large, complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The successful candidate will have at least 7-10 years of senior-level strategic and operational IT leadership experience operating in healthcare and/or a similarly complex environment/sector. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of advancing innovative leading-edge digital solutions, developing partnerships, and ensuring successful, large-scale health care information technology (IT) system optimization, executive-level leadership, transformational change management, team building and coordinated execution.
