Working under the direction of the new Chief Executive Officer, you will contribute to the transition of the OMA into a high performing, high reliability organization that supports an expanded role for physicians in formulating healthcare system policy and solutions. The Ontario Medical Association represents the political, clinical and economic interests of more than 41,000 Ontario physicians, residents and medical students. As part of its mandate the OMA negotiates physician compensation with the Province and advances excellence in health care delivery, through Ontario’s physicians. Reporting to the CEO, the Chief, Member Relations, Advocacy and Public Relations you will accountable for leading an comprehensive communications portfolio, including Member Engagement, & Communications, Government Relations & Advocacy, Medial & Social Media, Public Relations and the delivery of a highly effective Marketing and Digital strategy. Key to the new Chief’s success will be: the development of an integrated communications and public affairs strategy that focuses on key areas of importance to the OMA’s members; the development and delivery of a clear brand promise; and the active engagement of the OMA’s membership and the enhancement of the overall member experience. The successful candidate will have: a minimum of 15 years of progressive communications, marketing and public affairs experience, ideally in health care or another complex public sector or association environment. In addition, she/he will possess a deep understanding of how to work with boards, government and large, diverse groups of stakeholders. A demonstrated bold and innovative approach while building a culture of respect, transparency and responsiveness.
